Takes a bit to show up I guess

Until when will they continue outsourcing to Montreal? It's still profitable to invest in Montreal and essentially because of the following:

- provincial and federal government offer investment prime when opening a near shore solution center;
- cheaper labor in Canada in general.
-  higher US$ rate.

We're still attracting them today but what would happen when salaries in Montreal match those in the US? And what would happen if the US $ rate matches the Canadian. This situation can happen (already happened for the rate with a consequence: decrease of the gross profit margin for those companies therefore diminution of their interest). So my question is what can we do to keep these jobs here in Montreal (we have of course highly qualified IT professionals that should be sufficient but this is not the economical reality).

Senior PHP 5 Developer in Boston = $65,000 USD = $85,000 CDN

Senior PHP 5 Developer in Montreal = ($60,000 CDN - $18,000 CDN prov./fed. credit - another $3-5,000 cheaper rent per employee) = $38,000 CDN

Savings of $47,000 per year or 55%, I am suprised more American firms do not move to Montreal to do their IT development.
