An IT recruitment agency in Montreal says there has been a spike in the number of American companies crossing the border into Canada -- especially Montreal -- to do their software development and to save money. Kovasys Technology cites the unstable economy in the US, and massive layoffs. It says more and more companies are deciding to save money and move their IT operations to a cheaper but not out of the way location, and for many, that means Montreal. Quebec introduced subsidies for high tech companies less than a year ago.

Since then, the system was updated daily, and in many times, hourly. Here are the main updates that comes to my mind, directly from user feedback:   <ul> <li>make it easier to upload an avatar and edit the profile</li> <li>provide a handy "Edit profile" link in the user's page (not many saw the user menu at the right top section)</li> <li>user profile comments are now seen by all, you don't have to log in to see them (feedback from <a href="http://techentreprise.com/Montreal/users/fbrunel">FBrunel</a>)</li> <li>instead, you can now send "messages" privately to another member, in a new section called "InBox". It's not tested yet though, and I am expecting a couple of bugs :-)</li> <li>adding "My name" in user's account, instead of displaying the user's login. feedback from <a href="http://techentreprise.com/Montreal/users/fbrunel">Fred Brunel</a></li> <li>adding "My website in user's account, feedback from <a href="http://techentreprise.com/Montreal/users/PhilG">PhilG</a> and <a href="http://techentreprise.com/Montreal/users/sebastien">Sebastien</a></li> <li>fixing the news sub-tabs, which was displayed incorrectly on Firefox and many other browsers.
